Calling A Spade A Shovel

Why don't we call it what it is? The American war and occupation in Iraq has led to 'ethnic cleansing'. Gee just like what happened in the Balkans when Germany and the EU decided to recognise Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia. Enough with the monicker 'sectarian violence'. It is ethnic cleansing pure and simple, courtesy of the White House.

More than 1,000 Iraqis a day are being displaced by the sectarian violence that began on Feb. 22 with the bombing of the Shiite Askariya shrine in Samarra, according to a report released this week by the Geneva-based International Organization for Migration, a U.N.-associated group.

Ethnic cleansing? Do the world a favor - use a dictonary. To prostitute the serious and unforgiveable crime of massive murder inspired by prejudice so you can ejaculate your ignorance all over the soiled flag of Bush hatred you stand on is pathetic. You let your political passions distort a tragic situation, diluting a grave crime in your flailing attempt to slander your enemies.

As with so many of the left, you forget that words mean things. In this instance, you do the world no favors misappropriating crimes against humanity for sectarian violence and the spector of masses fleeing danger.
Now is the time to assess whether you have become part of the problem rather than the solution...

  2. The so called sectarian violence is occuring in the metropolitan regions, where communities are mixes, neighbourhoods are being divided along religious ethnic lines. Where once there were pluralistic communities people are fleeing to be with their own. This is not unlike the situation in Bosnia Herzogovina where Serbs, Bosiniacs etc. Muslims and Orthodox lived together and intermarried until Yugoslavia collapsed into the Balkan debacle. I don't need a dictionary to see that what is occuring in Baghdad is the same phenomena.
