We cannot wait any longer as our community members and loved ones die from bad drug policy. As a matter of public health and human rights, we’re asking the City of Vancouver to actively apply to the federal government for a City-wide exemption against the offence of drug possession. However, they have yet to take the crucial step of applying for an exemption. Take 45 seconds now and urge the City of Vancouver to decriminalize drug possession. Decriminalization is a public health measure and, once implemented, would reduce stigma, limit harmful interactions with police, and increase safe access to life-saving supports and services for people who use drugs.
