It’s possible that I shall make an ass of myself. But in that case one can always get out of it with a little dialectic. I have, of course, so worded my proposition as to be right either way (K.Marx, Letter to F.Engels on the Indian Mutiny)
Looks interesting, except for some tiresome academics! However, I think most of the myths havea risen about Marx from laziness. People don't read him, or they read one small thing by him, such as The Manifesto, then accept what others have written about him, who also happen to be people who have not read him either! Thus nonsense about Marx being a "dialectical materialist" a term he never used, a rigid economic determinist, a prototype of the vanguardist etc etc. Of course, there is a possibility for a REAL critique of Marx, but people rarely put the effort into it to come up witrh something of substance.
