President Donald Trump's new press secretary may be carrying a lot more baggage into the White House than initially thought, according to a new report.
Katie Zacharia, who began her tenure as the Trump administration's press chief on Monday, has echoed a number of conspiracy theories, ranging from elites running pedophilic cults to the debunked Pizzagate theory on Trump's Truth Social platform, according to a review of her social media history conducted by CNN's KFile. She also supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine, arguing that Russian President Vladimir Putin was fighting a "network of elites."
Zacharia has also scrubbed some of her previous posts where she was critical of the administration's immigration policies and warned they could lead to a midterm "bloodbath," according to the report.
The report alarmed some political analysts, who shared their reactions on social media.
