M&M's is getting slammed on Twitter after it announced on Monday that it's discontinuing its multi-coloured cast of candy spokespeople. Instead, its replacement would be the Saturday Night Live actress Maya Rudolph.
"We have decided to take an indefinite pause from the spokescandies," M&M's Twitter statement reads. "In their place, we are proud to introduce a spokesperson America can agree on: the beloved Maya Rudolph. We are confident Ms. Rudolph will champion the power of fun to create a world where everyone feels they belong."
This move comes shortly after M&M's popular spokescandies—like the all-new purple cast member—was criticized by conservatives like Fox News' Tucker Carlson.
