Five miners have died in a collapse at a mine in western Turkey, Energy Minister Alpaslan Bayraktar said on Friday.
Bayraktar wrote on X that in total seven miners had been trapped under the rubble.
Two were rescued alive from the mine in the Soma district of Manisa province. One remains in treatment and the other has been discharged from hospital, he said.
The accident occurred on Thursday, state news agency Anadolu reported. The cause of the collapse was not yet clear.
Anadolu said on Friday that nine suspects, including the mine's general manager, had been detained.
Soma was the site of the deadliest disaster in Turkish mining history. In May 2014, a mine pit was engulfed in flames and carbon monoxide gas, killing 301 miners. The disaster ignited protests against the government and mine operators over lax safety measures.
