Rojava protests in Kurdistan and many cities of Turkey

Citizens who took to the streets in many cities of Kurdistan and Turkey demanded the lifting of the siege on Kobane and gave a message of solidarity against the attacks on Rojava.

AMED

The vigil initiated by the Platform of Democratic Institutions in Amed against the attacks on Rojava continued on its second day. Representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations and many citizens attended the vigil led by TUAY-DER. During the protest, slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana Rojava" were chanted, and a call was made to open the borders to send humanitarian aid to Kobane. It was stated that the vigil action will continue under the leadership of a different institution every day.

In addition, the Platform for Democratic Institutions will organize mass marches in Amed and Êlih against the attacks on Rojava. The marches, which will be held in response to the attacks of HTS, ISIS and gang groups affiliated with Turkey, will be held with the slogan "Rojava is a struggle, it is freedom, it cannot be surrendered".

The march in Amed will start at 14.00 from the lower corner of the Prison in Rezan (Bağlar) district and continue to Oryıl via Emek Street. Before the march, politicians called on citizens to participate.

ÊLIH

In Êlih, the march will be held at 13.00 at the Yılmaz Güney Park Exhibition Area. DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır is also expected to participate in the march, which will be held under the leadership of Democratic Institutions. Calls for participation continue for the march in Êlih.

SÊRT

In the march held in the Dihê (Eruh) district of Sêrt, the attacks of HTS, ISIS and Turkish-backed paramilitary groups on Rojava were protested. Speaking in the statement made in Cumhuriyet Square, DEM Party Deputy Sebahat Erdoğan Sarıtaş stated that Rojava is a red line for the Kurdish people, emphasized that access to electricity, water and basic needs is restricted and that an urgent humanitarian corridor should be opened.

XARPÊT

In the statement made in the Dep (Karakoçan) district of Xarpêt, a reaction was shown to the attacks on Rojava. In the speeches, it was stated that the attacks targeted not only the people of Rojava, but also the hope of peace and coexistence in the region. In the evaluations made, it was pointed out that the system that makes it possible for peoples and beliefs to live together in Rojava was targeted.

ÇEWLÎG

In the march organized under the leadership of the Platform of Democratic Institutions in Çewlîg, slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana Rojava" and "Jin, jiyan, azadî" were chanted. In the statement made in the City Square, the attacks were condemned and it was stated that remaining silent means complicity in crime.

ALASEHIR

DEM Party Alaşehir District Organization made a press statement in front of the district building against the attacks on Rojava. DEM Party Alaşehir Women's Assembly Spokesperson Demet Altun stated that the attacks in Rojava are part of a planned and multidimensional destruction policy and said that what is happening is not a local conflict, but a conscious siege carried out in line with the interests of international and regional powers. Demet Altun emphasized that the will of the people that emerged in Rojava could not be surrendered. In the statement, it was stated that the policies of war and denial will lose and the struggle for freedom, equality and peace will win, and the protest ended with a sit-in protest.
