Microcredit For Some

Ottawa backs microcredit loans with $40-million This is good news, unfortunately it only applies to developing countries. What the government needs to do is adopt a Canada wide Guaranteed Income and provide microcredit loans to welfare and social assistance recipients. That would be real welfare reform. That would also allow all Canadians equality to succeed which is the current rhetoric coming from the government. Because training is not enough. Because as the ad says you need to have money in your pocket.

The government also wants to ensure all Canadians have equal opportunity to succeed, Flaherty said. That means providing incentives so people can upgrade their skills and technological training to be flexible in the changing economy.
