Where's Janke Now

Mammoth Halton cocaine seizure

I wonder if Steve Janke, Angry In The Great White North, will find some way to link this cocaine bust to Turner crossing to the Liberals and thus to Dion.

Like he did the last cocaine bust of Liberal supporter in B.C.

See

Editorial Comment

I see my editorial comment on Peter MacKay's secret surprise unannounced propaganda visit to Afghanistan has upset some partisan Blogging Tories, in particular BBS and Steve Janke. Hello its called editorial comment.

And Mr. Janke is concerned I am implying Peter MacKay is a pedophile. But child brides are ok in Afghanistan. That is the real crime. Which was my point, stated in a pointed way.

You can't be a pedophile if its ok in the country you are in to marry a child bride can you? And if it is pedophilia then I would expect Janke to be outraged, as I was, over the conditions of exploitation girls and women still suffer under the Karzai regime. But of course Janke wasn't nor was MacKay.

Janke would rather attack me personally and then attack the NDP as if I was a partisan blog for the NDP, which I am not. Missed my post on partisan blogging did we Steve. Missed Libertarian Communist Blog in my header did we.

The Harper government continues to prop up a misogynist anti-women regime that allows child brides. But the silence of the Harper government over the lack of womens rights in Afghanistan is deafening. But then they don't believe women's equality is important in Canada so why should it be important in Afghanistan.

Peter MacKay zooms over for a Harper propaganda photo op handing out some token funds to women, while avoiding the issue of the current famine and drought and families selling off child brides to survive.

Of course child brides are an offense to all right thinking folks, which was my point. But clearly my supposedly besmirching Mr. MacKays reputation is more important to a partisan hack like Janke than the condition of girls and women in Afghanistan.

Nothing new there, both BBS and Janke are Blogging Tories.

Kids Are Commodities

So says Steve Janke over at Angry in the Great White North. No kidding, pardon the pun. He says raising rug rats is the way we pay for our pensions and future caretaking. By demanding that we return to the bad old days before the Welfare State. Steve says Children have no value

What he means is that they are no longer commodities as producers, they remain commodities as consumers of course. So they cost him lots of money, and he wails about having to spend more on them through his taxes. That is he is opposed to day care, cause well the little woman should work at home only and raise the kids. For free of course, no pension, no wages for housework, its a payless career that should bring its own satisfaction. Why child raising is a joy. Which is why in the sixties before the discovery of post pardum depression, psychiatrists made valium the solution for the bored, stressed out housewives of North America.

Love these conservatives their solution is always Forward To The Past or Backwards Into The Future. No really he says that socialized pensions are horrible, poor deluded youngster born post depression in the wonder days of Trudeaumania and Keynes. He can live in his conservative fantasyland because we have social programs. Programs his parents and grandparents demanded, fought and voted for.

Unlike his parents and grandparents who lived through the dirty thirties when Janke's conservatism ruled, no pensions, no old age security, no Unemployment Insurance err pardon me I mean, Employment Insurance (that wonderful Orwellian turn of phrase), no Medicare and damn it No Damn Welfare. Relief was a dollar a week and you had to be married, if not, off to the concentration camps you go.

Better yet he blames them tax and spend Liberals for all this nasty stuff. And then he goes one step better and claims that taxes are the reason for declining birth rates. Ahem the lengths these guys go to blame taxes for everything is well, just exasperating.

But people had even larger families before. Why? Because as much as children cost money when they are young, they have monetary value when they are older. That value is realized when you retire and the children take on the responsibility of taking care of you.

In the old days, people didn't have pensions and RRSPs. They had children.

But someone came up with the idea of socialized pensions. Everyone pays higher taxes, and that money goes into a pool, managed by the government, invested by bureaucrats (usually in government bonds, surprise), and eventually doled back out to you when you retire. In fact, all they did was take over the intra-generational redistribution of wealth that was taking place when children took care of their parents.

But now you've got higher taxes. You have to pay for that. What expense can you cut back on? What is there that you can you do less with, now that your discretionary income has been curtailed?

Of course, kids. I mean, they aren't actually worth anything now, right? And so you see a crash in the birthrate. Of course, what did you think would happen?

Hello stupid, one of the greatest functions of capitalism has been to destroy the bourgeois family along with the peasant family. It is not taxation or the state demanding these developments its capitalism. Capitalism reduces the need for large families in the developed world, literacy, education, a flexible workforce all that 'stuff' that's good for industry is what causes increased security and economic development. Having an advanced capitalist economy results in lower childbirth rates as women become liberated from child rearing in order to go into the work force.

Modern capitalism has allowed the birth of the independent woman who is no longer economically dependent on her husband.

Camille Paglia

Having lots of children wasn't and never has been a glorious prospect. The reality is that having lots of children for the peasant or farming family and later the artisans family was to have workers. Survival rates of children in feudalism as in modern Third World countries was low due to disease. Which is why in earlier societies before the advent of industrialization and capitalism and in modern developing countries the motto was and is
it takes a village to raise a child, opps sorry not in Steves mythical world. In his world the family is the bourgeois family of the 19th century. Sometimes called the nuclear family, mom, dad, two kids and a dog.

Unless you are Catholic which is a religion of go forth and multiply and is peasant based from its power in the feudal period to its dying power today in the peasant based economies of the Developing World.

This 'modern' model of the nuclear family evolved under capitalism, as the bourgeoisie values of housework and homework and the management of the home, became a science for the upperclass women and their middle class followers. In the 19th Century Domestication, the ideal of the house wife as manger evolved through the writing of books on home management and etiquette. All this home management was not done by the middle class or upper class woman, but her maids and nannies, predominately Irish working girls. Who then went home to raise their own families after spending their days in indentured servitude to their bourgeois owners. That is the model of the nuclear family.

The bourgeoisie, historically, has played a most revolutionary part.

The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, has put an end to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic relations. It has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his "natural superiors", and has left no other nexus between people than naked self-interest, than callous "cash payment". It has drowned out the most heavenly ecstasies of religious fervor, of chivalrous enthusiasm, of Philistine sentimentality, in the icy water of egotistical calculation. It has resolved personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless indefeasible chartered freedoms, has set up that single, unconscionable freedom -- Free Trade. In one word, for exploitation, veiled by religious and political illusions, it has substituted naked, shameless, direct, brutal exploitation.

The bourgeoisie has stripped of its halo every occupation hitherto honored and looked up to with reverent awe. It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage laborers.

The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation into a mere money relation.

The Communist Manifesto. Bourgeois and Proletarians

The reality is that daycare is the modern form of the nanny culture. Irish maids and servants were not unknown amongst the wealthier craftsman in Canada at the turn of last century. There is no inherent value in one parent staying home with the children after infancy. In fact amongst the bourgeois of the 19th century nursemaids were also employed, so that the upperclasses didn't have to suffer the physicality of touching their own children.

Of course that is not what day care or child care offers today. It is about early childhood education. The right wing now goes aghast and agog about this, in much the same way their ancestors were opposed to public education. Well some of their ancestors, others of these dinosaurs , the nativists approved of public education, especially in the United States, where it was seen as Americanizing papists and immigrants.

So think what these folks like Janke are saying, they don't want public day care, so they don't want public education nor public pensions. What the heck do they want? Some strange never existing ideal of a so called free market, one they have read about in books but has never existed.

But at least Janke is honest, he believes in child labour, from cradle to the grave, he says you have kids so they can work for you. Yep if you lived on the farm in 1930 that would be true. Today well he like the rest of the right wing whiners want to wish themselves back to those glory days. But capitalism won't let them go back.

Capitalism needs social services, pensions, benefits, day care, healthcare, etc. despite the Conservative contention that the mythical market should provide these services, it is the Capitalist State that is expected to relieve that burdern off business. These benefits should not be paid for out of its surplus value/profit but paid for by its State through taxes on workers.

After all capitalists never call for the end of individual income taxes, only corporate taxes. That way they can retrieve more of their profits back from what they grudgingly pay us every two weeks.

Blogging Tories Payola

I once defended the Blogging Tories from charges that they were in the pay of the Conservative Party. Now I find my faith misplaced. After the Harprocrites were elected Blogging Tory founder Stephen Taylor was proudly 'leaking' Conservative memo's.

And it's spelled Janke not Jank. And he too has been a pit bull for the Conservatives in Ottawa.

And last week they were outed as being in Harpers back pocket during the election.

In his new book, Harper's Team: Behind the Scenes in the Conservative Rise to Power, party strategist Tom Flanagan notes the Tories' innovative use of blogs in the 2006 election campaign.

He cites in particular two members of the Blogging Tories, Steve Jank and Stephen Taylor, who write highly partisan blogs on federal politics.

Mr. Flanagan writes that campaign manager Doug Finley "appointed people to monitor the blogosphere and to get out stories that were not quite ready for the mainstream media."

These bloggers "amplify and diversify our message," he wrote.

Except the payola to Blogging Tories did not after the election was over, it continued this year.

The Harper government gave a contract for communications consulting on Parliament Hill, worth up to $20,000, to an outspoken Conservative Internet blogger.

Privy Council Office records show Joan Tintor, author of a popular weblog or "blog," in June received the one-year contract for "communications professional services not elsewhere specified."

The government says Ms. Tintor was not paid to write a blog and has so far received only $350 for work performed under the contract.

She was contracted to provide writing and other communications work on an as-needed basis to the office of government House leader Peter Van Loan.

Ms. Tintor did not return an e-mail requesting comment and, when reached by telephone, she said she would have to call back. She did not.

Her strongly opinionated blog focuses on provincial and federal politics and is listed on the web page of the "Blogging Tories," a collection of conservative Internet commentators. Her blog, joantintor.blogspot.com

Joan has been silent on this particular matter. In fact she has not blogged since Saturday.

So add Joan to the list of Blogging Tories accepting payola from the Conservatives.

And like Tory race car driver and news aggregator
Pierre Bourque these Tory Bloggers relish the idea of being close to power.

Kinsella Accuses NDP of Blood Libel

The International Court in the Hague has decreed that Israels Security Wall is a breach of international law. It is illegal.

It seems this point has been missed by Mssrs. Kinsella and Stephen Taylor who are all agog that someone, the NDP, would dare call it for what it is an 'aparthied' wall.

Ok boys how's this if aparthied is too strong for you why don't we call it the New Berlin Wall. Is that anti-semitic? Probably since for Kinsella any criticism of Israel is deemed anti-semitic.

In his National Post cloumn( titled The War Room) Kinsella called the NDP resolutions a "blood libel". Blood libel is pretty strong stuff since it refers to the accusation by Medieval christians that Jews kidnapped and murdered children for their rites. So the NDP resolutions are being called anti-semitic and equated with blood libel by Kinsella.

The NDP’s 22nd biennial convention is set for September in Quebec City, and the inquisitive Tory blogger, Stephen Taylor, has obtained a copy of party resolutions. From the Trinity-Spadina NDP, a demand that “the NDP campaign for an end to the rule of [Israeli] apartheid laws…” From the party’s Quebec wing, a resolution calling for the NDP to “demolish the apartheid wall and [halt] targeted murders.” More than anything else, these expressions of enmity are sad. They suggest that, unlike the Americans – whose politics we frequently deride – some of us have not recognized that a vibrant Middle Eastern policy debate is possible without stooping to epithets and blood libels.

As for claims by Steve Janke, that some how Stephen Taylor 'leaked' NDP resolutions, leaked implies secrecy. Well the resolutions are available to any member of the NDP attending the convention. So no big secret there folks. They are publicly available. Not like they were hidden away under lock and key like the PM's Saskatchewan itinery.

And yes in case you forgot Stephen, Steve and Warren in many ridings at the grass roots the NDP has a socialist base. And the last time I checked the left opposed Israels illegal occupation of Palestine, its violations of international law, and its illegal aparthied wall, opps sorry Berlin Wall, across the occupied territories.

It is called Anti-Imperialism. But to these toadies that is equivalent to anti-semitism. Give your head a shake.

John Mark Karr's Fantasy

Having posted already about the media frenzy over JonBenet Ramasy where her family was put on trial and found guilty, now we have a similar frenzy over the fantasy confession of John Mark Karr, a pedophile who has a propensity towards studying child rape/murder cases. His confession smelled fishy from day one.

Karr had moved to Petaluma, Calif., the city that had been gripped by the 1993 abduction and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas. According to his brother Nate, by that time Karr was working on a book about men who commit sex crimes against young girls and was preoccupied with the murders of Klaas and Ramsey. The Man Who Says He Did It

Steve Janke has suggested that he was fleeing Thailand and confessed in order to avoid Thai jail. While like Steve I think his confession is less than genuine and a cover for attention, I don't think it has anything to do with avoiding Thai jail.

Child sex exploitation is a major tourism industry in Thailand
, so his being arrested for this is unlikely. Rather I think the cooperation of the Thai police was given to take heat off their failure to do anything about the child sex industry in their country
.

I think that this is his chance for fifteen minutes of fame. As someone who exploits children he is at it again using the JonBenet case for his necrophillac fantasy, knowing it would create a media frenzy getting him the fame and fortune that other child killers he studied, got. Truly this guy is one sick puppy.

Pension Free China

The Blogging Tories and right wingers who hate State Supported Pensions like Steve Janke should be cheering this bastion of Free Enterprize. Steve says;thanks to socialized universal pension plans, children have no value. Really well explain this then; since China has a population control policy and NO Universal Public Pensions.

Over 80 percent of Chinese workers have no basic pension insurance

According to a report of the Economic Information Daily on 17 February quoting official statistics, over 80 percent of workers in China have no basic pension insurance. More than 85 percent of people living in cities and towns do not have basic medical insurance, the paper added. The poor and the needy in urban areas have not received any systematic social assistance. [Read more]

Blogging Tories Campaign Fails

The Bloginng Tories campaign to end funding for Status of Women is now online with a petition.

It is pathetic that since this campaign began last month their petition has a total of 592 signatures. And many of those signatures are from men. You know the guys these rightwhingblogs have been complaining about.

Ohh bestill my beating heart, the masses have spoken. Actually these dweebs deliberately confuse a federal department with a feminist organization, the National Action Committee on the Status of Women, which lobbies the department.

Be that what it may, this campaign is a tempest in a teapot, created by the ladies auxilary of the neo-cons.

The petition should have thousands of signatures the way they claim to speak for all Canadian women. Less than 600 signatures is pathetic and speaks the the failure of the right whing blogs to actually mobilize any grassroots support. They are only good at appearing to speak for a movement, enough to get them some press coverage. But when push comes to shove they are politically weak-tea.

When John Loney was held captive in Iraq, the petition to save our PeakeMakers got over thirty thousand signatures in a few days. 592 over a month is a dribble.

When it began the MSM that made a big deal out of this faux campaign. It should now be reporting on the failure of this campaign, but it won't. Moving on to other issues now. Ironically the campaign came to the attention of the MSM via Steve Janke's whitewhing blog. Anti-feminist Janke is a man. Surprise!

This is all about the Blogging Tory self promoting echo chamber sturm and drang signifying nothing. No real campaign of the masses, just right wing special interest politics.

It is also addressed to the wrong person. It asks the Finance Minister to end funding for the Status of Women.

Fine and dandy except that Status of Women is its own department and cabinet position under
Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women - Bev Oda.
Whom BigBlueWave called a radical feminist. Really.

So it's a bunch of radical feminist bureaucrats consulting radical feminists to hear what they want to hear to promote more radical feminism on my dime.”

So they can't even get the who in the petition right and then they accuse Bev Oda of being a feminist bureaucrat. Hilarious.

Of course this is a simple case of misdirected misanthropic myopic mysoginist politics. There I got to use all the M words. Except mother. Ok, their mothers should be ashamed of them.

Blasphemy is in the Eye of the Beholder

I see a huge hue and cry going on in the MSM over the Danish cartoonist and his representations of Mohammed bin Laden.

Even the Blogging Tories,
Post this cartoon and frighten a terrorist and the Progressive Bloggers are commenting about the Muslim outcry and censorship of what they are calling blasphemous representations of their prophet.

Islam bans any representation of G*D or his prophets. Which is why Islam developed a wonderful culture of architecture and abstract geometric art forms.

So with that in mind ANY representation, whether positive or negative of Mohammed, may his name be blessed, and A***h the merciful ,is BLASPHEMY.

It seems that fear of the Muslim masses has caused the usually staid and established European media to cringe at having masses of outraged muslims torch their buildings.

http://mag.awn.com/issue9.02/9.02images/wolff09_VanHelsing-villager.jpg

Muslims, that peaceful religion, like to hold mass rallies and do the "villagers meet Frankenstein" thing. Sorta like brownshirts during the 1930's. This is what religious ideology does, it inflames the souls of their followers, who believe that there is no higher power than their G*D.

Christian and Muslim alike suffer this particular evangelism, sometimes called fundamentalism. It means that man made laws, the social contract of society is less important than the BOOK.

Which is why this text is considered Blasphemy in Islam and great literature in the West.

Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

The image “http://www.okonlife.com/images/harps.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

In this recent case of the controversial cartoon Muslims are being forgiven for their outrage, and outrageous threats, cause they are minority religion.

They are a patriarchical belief system based on the Old Testament, which has been the basis of the modern state since Constantine. They are just a later adaption of Judeo-Christian monotheism.

Jews are a minority religion as well, one that has faced genocidal persecution for centuries by Christians and Christian States. As an outcast minority in 19th and 20th Century Europe, not unlike the Muslims of today but unlike them they faced annihilation at the hands of the Nazi's which reminds us of the damage ideology gone rampant can cause. Today they demand the State defend them against anti-semitism by using anti-hate laws. Something that Muslims should consider if they are so outraged.

Where Islam is the State this is how they treat religious minorities:

Christian faces death for 'blasphemy'
Granted unprecedented final hearing before Pakistan Supreme Court

And in newly liberated Afghanistan, home of Americas newest Democracy, liberated by the U.S. army. Where Canadian troops hunt down the Taliban, and look for Osama bin Laden. Afghanistan where the Bush adminstration claimed they were going to free the Women of Afghanistan. Well it's still a muslim country.

AFGHANISTAN: Editor goes on trial for blasphemy

New York, October 11, 2005—
The editor of a monthly magazine about women's rights went on trial today in Kabul's provincial court on blasphemy charges for publishing articles purported to offend Islam.

You see Christians sue, or write letters to the editor, or blog their outrage. But that is because they are the established religion of North America, Latin America and Europe. They are the state religion.

'Jesus Juice' gets
corked for good

Couple won't market wine with image some call blasphemous

A wine called "Jesus Juice" that includes a label with the image of a Michael Jackson look-alike in a Christ-like position on a cross will not be marketed, now that the California media power couple behind the effort has decided to abandon the idea.

As WorldNetDaily previously reported, "Jesus Juice" merlot was the pet project of actress Dawn Westlake and veteran CBS Evening News producer Bruce Rheins, who covered the Michael Jackson child molestation case.

Rheins and Westlake registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office the name "Jesus Juice" in January of 2004, only two months after Jackson was arrested and several days after news sources reported that Jackson referred to the wine that he purportedly gave to minors as "Jesus Juice."

I find myself agreeing with Steve Janke at Angry in the Great White North when he says;

As for peace-loving Muslims who are offended, well, too bad. Being offended is the price of freedom. Be offended, but don't be frightened or terrorized. Get used to being offended. I feel offended at least three times a week by things I read and by the opinions I hear voiced. I write about it, I defend my point of view, I try to show where others are mistaken or duplicitous, but I never ask that people be silenced.

Blasphemy is liberation. It comes in many forms, mainly those challenging accepted ideas. The Devil's Dictionary It allows us to challenge the idiotic belief systems of authority and the establishment, whether the domain of the ivory tower or the church or the state.

Blasphemy? No, it is not blasphemy. If God is as vast as that, he is above blasphemy; if He is as little as that, He is beneath it.
